About The Author

In 2009, Macmillan Books revealed that Lane had been chosen to write a series of books centered around the early life of Sherlock Holmes. This project was a collaboration with the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Ensuring that the stories stayed true to the original character and continuity. Lane’s previous work, such as the novel All-Consuming Fire. Demonstrated his deep understanding of the Holmes universe. As he introduced The Library of St. John the Beheaded as a unique meeting point for Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Who.

The ‘Young Sherlock Holmes’ series kicked off with the release of Death Cloud in the UK in June 2010 (February 2011 in the US).
