About The Author
Michael Huyghue made a name for himself as one of the first black general managers in professional football. He held important positions in the NFL, including senior vice president for football operations of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Under his leadership, the team achieved great success, with two AFC Championship game appearances in their first five seasons. Huyghue’s career also involved working with the Detroit Lions, the NFL Management Council, and the NFL Players Association.
Aside from his work in football, Huyghue is a lawyer and often gives lectures on professional sports and sports law. He graduated from Cornell University, where he excelled as a football player, and later obtained his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He is admitted to the bar in New York, New Jersey, and Michigan, and has served as a member of the board of trustees at Cornell University.
