About The Author

Johanna Helen Howard was born in Germany on March 10, 1952. Her father, Edwin Dennis Howard, served as a soldier in the U.S. Army and the family frequently relocated during her early years. They moved from place to place throughout her childhood until her father’s dream of retiring in Hawaii became a reality. Unfortunately, Edwin passed away in 1964, but Johanna and her mother decided to settle in Hawaii as a way to honor his memory.

During her time in school, Johanna Lindsey married Ralph Lindsey in 1970 and embraced the role of a young housewife. Together, they had three children named Alfred, Joseph, and Garret. As time went on, Johanna became a proud grandmother thanks to her children starting their own families. However, tragedy struck when her husband passed away, prompting Johanna to make a significant change in her life.

To be closer to her family, Johanna Lindsey relocated to Maine, New England after her husband’s death. This decision allowed her to find solace and support from her loved ones during a difficult time. It was in Maine that Johanna discovered her passion for writing which made her one of the most beloved authors in the genre of historical romance.

Johanna Helen Howard

Johanna’s writing covers a wide range of historical periods, including the Middle Ages, the American “Old West,” and the ever-popular Regency England-Scotland era. She even ventured into the realm of sci-fi romance, showcasing her versatility as an author. However, her spellbinding series about the Malory-Anderson Family, set in Regency England, truly captured the hearts of readers worldwide.

Sadly, Johanna Lindsey’s journey came to an end on October 27, 2019, when she passed away in Nashua, N.H. at the age of 67. Her legacy as one of the world’s most beloved authors of historical romance will continue to live on through her timeless stories and the millions of readers who have been amazed by her words
