“#1 New York Times Bestselling Author”
In the small town of Bienville, Mississippi, lies a web of secrets that threaten to unravel the very fabric of the community. When Marshall McEwan returns to his hometown after years of being away, he is faced with the harsh reality that his father is terminally ill and the family newspaper is on the brink of collapse. But that’s not all.
The town is on the verge of a major economic breakthrough with the arrival of a billion-dollar Chinese paper mill. However, the deal is threatened when two murders occur, and the town is thrown into chaos.
As Marshall delves deeper into the mystery surrounding the murders, he uncovers a tangled web of deceit, betrayal, and long-buried secrets that threaten to destroy everything he holds dear. The love of his youth, Jet Turner, is now married to the powerful Matheson family, who control the town through their exclusive Poker Club. Marshall and Jet soon find themselves caught in the middle of a dangerous game of power and greed, where the stakes are high and the consequences deadly.
With the clock ticking and the town on the brink of collapse, Marshall must confront his past and the woman he loves to uncover the truth behind the murders and save Bienville from destruction. But as he peels back the layers of deception, he realizes that some secrets are better left buried. Will Marshall be able to uncover the truth before it’s too late, or will the town of Bienville be forever destroyed by the weight of its secrets?
