About The Author
James Ewing is a veteran newsman with a special interest in books. A former Nashville bureau chief for the Memphis Commercial Appeal, he joined the Nashville Banner in 1973 as a copy editor. In 1974, he moved into the editorial department with responsibilities for the book page and the op-ed page. In 1984 he was promoted to Forum Editor but has continued to write his book column which appears each Saturday. Ewing is a former president of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. He is the Author of A Treasury of Tennessee Tales. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Ewing lives in Franklin with his wife Alice.
