About The Author

Mary Kay Andrews is a renowned author who has written 30 bestselling novels and one cookbook. Originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, she obtained a journalism degree from The University of Georgia. After working as a reporter for various newspapers, including The Savannah Morning News and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she decided to pursue a career in fiction writing in 1991.

Under her real name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck, she published her first novel, Every Crooked Nanny, in 1992. She then transitioned to using the pen name Mary Kay Andrews and gained critical acclaim with her mysteries. In 2006, her book Hissy Fit became a New York Times bestseller, and she continued to achieve success with twelve more bestsellers. Her novels have been translated into multiple languages, including German, Italian, Polish, Slovenian, Hungarian, Dutch, Czech, and Japanese.

Mary Kay Andrews and her family split their time between Atlanta and Tybee Island, GA. They own two beach homes, The Breeze Inn and Ebbtide, which are named after fictional places in her novels. These homes are available for rent through Tybee Vacation Rentals. When she’s not writing, Mary Kay enjoys treasure hunting and renovating old houses, all while spoiling her grandkids and experimenting with new recipes.
